Scholarship


The Nodal officer of the institution for students scholarship to the academic year 2020-2021 is Prof.Amitha.S and Smt.Jayakala.The objective of providing different types of scholarship by Central Government and state Government is to provide financial assistance to the meritorious students. A brief outline of different types of scholarship available to college students is given below.

NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP: Students who enjoyed this scholarship during their Plus2 Course and scored a minimum of 50% at the qualifying examination can continue enjoying this during the Degree Course.

UNIVERSITY MERIT SCHOLARSHIP: Students who have 60% or more marks for the qualifying examination are eligible for this scholarship for the duration of the course. The amount is Rs. 900 per year for B.A. /B.Sc/B.Com courses.

STATE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP: To those who get the first few ranks in the state for the qualifying exams.

STATE SCHOLARSHIP: This is a merit-cum-means scholarship. Students with more than 60% marks for the qualifying examination can apply for this. The amount is Rs. 625 per year for 3 years for B.A./B.Sc/B.Com course and Rs.750 for 2 years of P.G. Courses. This scholarship can be enjoyed along with any other scholarship which shall not exceed half of the amount. The scholarship holder has to maintain 50% marks every year.

SCHOLARSHIP FOR PROFICIENCY IN SPORTS: This scholarship is awarded to the students according to their proficiency in sports and games.

STATE SCHOLARSHIP FOR PROFICIENCY IN ARTS: This scholarship can be enjoyed by the students subject to their proficiency in arts.

LABOUR WELFARE FUND SCHOLARSHIP:

The children of labourers who are contributors to Labour Welfare Fund are eligible for this scholarship.

UNIFIED FEE CONCESSION: This is given on the basis of merit and means. A minimum of 45% marks is required to apply for this concession. Renewal applications are to be sent every year of the course.

FEE CONCESSION TO FORWARD COMMUNITY STUDENTS: Students are eligible for the fee concession under the Kumara Pillai Commission Report in case the income of their parents does not exceed Rs.25,000 for Degree course and Rs.42,000 for PG Course.

MERIT SCHOLARSHIP FOR CHILDREN OF SCHOOL TEACHERS: Those students who are children of School Teachers and score above 60% in the qualifying exams are eligible for this scholarship provided the annual income of their parents does not exceed Rs 100,000
